Key Research:

l  Sedimentary basins in the orogenic belts

l  Tectonic facies of the orogenic belts and their specializations of metallization

Research Interests:

l  Evolution of Paleotethys in China and adjacent regions

l  Tectonic processes and metallization of the orogenic belt on the southeast of the Yangtze block (the Qin-Hang tectonic zone)

l  Crustal growth of the Yangtze block in the Neoproterozoic

l  Geochronology of the ophiolites.

TEACHING:

l  Sedimentation and Tectonics

Based on the principles of plate tectonics, this course introduces the types and sedimentations of the basins in different tectonic settings, and teaches you how to reconstruct tectonic processes and their architectures by facies analysis, sedimentation recovery, and provenance tracing of basin sediments.

l  Metallization and Tectonics

Based on the principles of plate tectonics, this course introduces the metallization of the metallic deposits in different tectonic settings, and makes you come to a general understanding of the ore types, their mineral assemblages, typical alterations of the country-rocks, depositing situations and sources in various settings.
